Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, is leading a high-level delegation to the United States to enhance cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation. The visit aims to deepen strategic ties between the two nations and accelerate joint efforts in building advanced digital and AI infrastructure.
The delegation will meet with U.S. government officials and leaders from major technology companies to expand collaboration in research, innovation, and digital development. The mission aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes transforming the Kingdom into a global hub for technology, data, and AI-driven innovation.
Since the establishment of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in 2019, the Kingdom has rapidly advanced in AI adoption, introducing frameworks for ethical and responsible data use while launching large-scale talent development programs. Initiatives such as SAMAI, designed to equip one million Saudis with AI skills, highlight the country’s commitment to technological empowerment and human capital development.
The visit underscores Saudi Arabia’s long-term strategy to lead in AI and digital innovation, fostering international partnerships that support sustainable economic growth and global competitiveness.
