Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet has strongly condemned the recent attacks by Houthi forces targeting both civilian and economic sites in the regions of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. These assaults have been labeled as acts of aggression by the ministers, who have reiterated the kingdom’s right to protect its sovereignty, as well as its citizens and residents from such threats. The Cabinet also voiced its disapproval of Houthi attacks on commercial vessels and the disruption of international maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
Reports indicate that more than 70 individuals, including women and children, sustained injuries during these attacks across several Saudi cities. In response, Saudi authorities have been instructed to ensure that those injured receive the highest level of medical care available. This directive underscores the government’s commitment to the well-being of its people in the wake of such incidents.
In addition to addressing the Houthi attacks, the Cabinet’s meeting, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, also covered developments in the Palestinian territories. The ministers discussed Arab efforts to counteract Israeli actions in Jerusalem and the ongoing expansion of settlements, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s enduring concern for Palestinian issues.
The meeting included a briefing on the Crown Prince’s recent discussions with the leaders of Egypt, Greece, and Oman, highlighting regional diplomatic engagements. Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed approval of a new agreement between the Saudi and German foreign ministries. This agreement aims to establish a strategic dialogue intended to enhance consultation and coordination between the two nations, signaling a step towards strengthened bilateral relations.
