Qatar Denounces Houthi Assaults Targeting Saudi Arabia in Breaking News.

by admin477351

Qatar has spoken out against the recent Houthi assaults on civilian and economic locations in southern Saudi Arabia, emphasizing its solidarity with the Kingdom and backing the steps taken by Saudi Arabia to secure its sovereignty and safety. The condemnation was conveyed by Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during a phone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The two leaders also examined ongoing regional developments and diplomatic initiatives aimed at easing tensions and ensuring stability in the area.

The attacks, which have been described by Qatar as a dangerous escalation and a breach of Saudi sovereignty and international law, struck several locations including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. These incidents resulted in injuries to 73 civilians, among them women and children, and also temporarily impacted some energy facilities. Qatar has urged the international community to take a firmer stance against such aggressions and to support the enforcement of UN Security Council resolutions related to Yemen and the security of the Red Sea region.

Tensions between the Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed forces have been rising in recent weeks, sparking fears of a broader conflict. The Houthis, who control Sanaa and significant portions of northern Yemen, have intensified their attacks not only on Saudi Arabia but also on maritime vessels traversing the Red Sea. In response, government-aligned forces have launched operations targeting areas under Houthi control.

As the situation continues to escalate, regional actors are increasingly concerned about the potential for a larger-scale confrontation. The ongoing hostilities underscore the fragile nature of the regional balance and the critical need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further destabilization. This development has drawn international attention, with calls for concerted global action to address the violations and support peace initiatives in the region.
