Saudi Arabia has reiterated its dedication to fostering international peace and security during its participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Kingdom’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for dialogue and mediation to tackle both regional and global challenges.
Highlighting the importance of the United Nations’ role, Prince Faisal stated that the assembly serves as a critical platform for reinforcing international institutions’ capability in maintaining peace, upholding international law, and enhancing cooperation to resolve conflicts. Saudi Arabia is particularly focused on respecting state sovereignty, promoting peaceful dispute settlements, and ensuring the safety of international waterways amid regional tensions.
In addition to these diplomatic priorities, Saudi Arabia is also spotlighting the responsible use of artificial intelligence and sustainable development at this year’s UN gathering. The Kingdom aims to leverage AI to boost efficiency, foster innovation, and drive economic and social development, aligning with its Vision 2030 initiative to diversify its economy and develop new sectors.
Saudi Arabia, a UN member since 1945, continues to engage in multilateral forums to address pressing regional and international issues. The Kingdom has actively supported diplomatic efforts concerning conflicts in areas like Ukraine and Gaza, demonstrating its commitment to global peace and cooperation.
