by admin477351

The aviation sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is witnessing a robust rebound, with travel demand surging by 66.2% in May compared to April, signaling a return of traveler confidence in the region’s key markets. Between March and May, travel activity across GCC hubs accelerated by a substantial 72.8%, underscoring the resilience of the aviation infrastructure in this part of the world.

Leading the recovery, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reinforced its status as the primary travel hub in the region. Travel activity in the UAE rose by 75.6% from April to May, as major airports such as Dubai International, Abu Dhabi International, and Sharjah International recorded significant growth. This increase reflects heightened demand for both business and leisure travel within the UAE.

Qatar is rapidly becoming one of the fastest-growing travel markets in the GCC, with notable increases in travel activity during the same period. Doha’s Hamad International Airport has played a crucial role in enhancing Qatar’s connectivity, contributing to its emerging status as a vital hub for international travel and regional connectivity.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia continues to be a major player in the GCC travel landscape, contributing significantly to the region’s overall travel demand. The Kingdom’s key cities, including Riyadh and Dammam, experienced growth that underscores Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in the regional aviation market.

This marked recovery reflects growing traveler confidence, better connectivity, and the solid foundation of the GCC’s aviation infrastructure. As the peak travel season approaches, the sector is poised for sustained growth, bolstered by the increasing demand for air travel across the region.
