During an official visit to the Maldives, Saudi Minister of State Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz met with Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The visit coincided with the 61st anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, an event that underscored the strong bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and the island nation.
The meeting between Prince Mansour and President Muizzu was a significant moment, reflecting the deep-rooted relationship and ongoing cooperation between the two countries. Prince Mansour’s participation in the independence celebrations highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening these relations further.
Upon his arrival in the Maldivian capital of Male, Prince Mansour was greeted at Velana International Airport by a delegation led by Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel. Also present to welcome him were Mohamed Naseer, the Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations, and Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani.
The presence of high-ranking officials at the welcoming ceremony emphasized the importance of Prince Mansour’s visit. It not only celebrated the Maldives’ national day but also served as an opportunity to discuss mutual interests and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
