Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has called for increased international efforts to hold Israeli settlers accountable for their actions against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. Addressing an interfaith dialogue in Rome, Prince Faisal emphasized the urgent need to halt these attacks, pointing out that the ongoing expansion of settlements coupled with violence could jeopardize the viability of a two-state solution.
In his remarks, Prince Faisal acknowledged the measures already undertaken by various countries, such as imposing sanctions on individuals associated with significant human rights offenses, implementing travel bans, and restricting imports from Israeli settlements. He stressed the necessity for heightened accountability to safeguard Palestinian rights and to foster enduring peace in the region.
The Saudi foreign minister also reiterated the Kingdom’s firm stance against any alterations to the historic and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites.
